Hardware limitations

Touch screen mobile phones

Touch screen mobiles are open to many limitations. These limitations are

·       Broken screens

Touch screen mobiles are open to world dangers, from slipping out of peoples hands to the concrete floor to babies getting a hold of the phone to throw and hammer the phone.

·       Low battery life

Newer Smartphone’s that run multiple apps in the background tend to have a short battery life as its processor will be using up a lot of power and energy.

·       Crashing

Smart phones that run multiple apps are also vulnerable to crashes and therefore unsaved work may be lost.

·       Extra storage may be needed

Smart phones also tend to use up a lot of memory. The memory storage that is packaged with the mobile is usually not enough to hold all the extra apps, music, photos taken etc. Therefore extra expense is usually needed to buy extra memory such as S.D cards.

·       Expensive to keep up with technology

In order to keep up with the ever changing and improving technology in smartphones you will need to spend an excessive ammount of money.

The infamous example of this is Apples Iphones.
Every year Apple can release 2 new versions of each model of the iphones.
For example the Iphone 4 was released on June 24th 2010, the non sim 16GB version for £499.
The newer version of the iphone 4, the Iphone 4s was released on October 14th 2011 .  For £499 for the non sim 16 GB version whith little new improvements and functions.

Is it worth the extra £499?

Digital Cameras

Battery life

Battery life can be short as battery consumption is very high.  So it can be very useful to have extra battery packages handy so you can keep using your digital camera.

Storage space

Digital cameras can have a large packaged storage space but especially for photographers the packaged storage may not be enough. So extra payments may be needed to buy a new memory card.

Durability

Cameras can be easily damaged from multiple things such as dropping cameras, the cameras can be very sensitive to damage from being left in the frost or out in the rain.

Lower quality than film

Even though the processing takes much shorter to the final photograph for digital cameras compared to film cameras. The overall quality for film cameras is much better and more professional looking.

Most digital cameras are not waterproof

When most digital cameras are exposed to water they can become dameged. This can put limitations on a photagaphers work. If the photographer does not have a rain cape then they cannot work on getting photographs in the rain. If the camera is damaged 100s of photos can be lost.

Software limatations
The Adobe package whith programs such as photoshop and Flash can be a great toll to be used by digital graphical workers but their can be some problems whith Photoshop

The price for an Adobe package and even buying each of the software within the package can be very expensive. Whith the Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design and Web Premium costing £1478 excluding vat. Of course this price is out of peoples range.

Photoshop can be very complex and daunting software tool to use. Usually training and prior experience with the software are required to do even basic things such as blending a photograph into the background.
